Redbournbury Watermill is a working mill nr St Albans and produces a range of stoneground organic flours principally from locally grown grains. There is a bakery on the site. It is run by a team of dedicated volunteers and was extensively restored following a fire in 1987
1000 years of milling history at the last working mill on the river Ver
It is the owners intention to add additional drawings showing the mill as it was pre the 1986 fire as well as both the auxillary diesel and the steam engine. So watch this space, more drawings to follow shortly
Hoist disengaged - Arm at bottom left is horizontal so drive belt from below is slack around wheel
Hoist engaged - Arm pulled down raising wheel which tightens the belt and rotates the shaft
